6) Do you agree whether anything that is called “art” by an artist, should be considered as a work of art
Art is not circumscribed to religious or historic paintings anymore. Art has evolved and expanded to the extent to which viewers question its validity as an artwork. Some contemporary artworks render beholders to inquire whether the artwork is exhibited in a museum because it is art, or whether the artwork is conceived as art because it is exhibited in a museum. Marcel Duchamp’s fountain, ca. 1917. Sculpture, has shaken the conception of art to its roots and Kate Rothko Prizel’s work Number 1, ca. 1957. oil on canvas, 199.4 x 98cm could appear as colored squares anyone could have created. While viewers doubt their validity, however, the fundamental property and role of art lie in the sentimentality and unique emotion that it is able to conjure when a viewer is confronted with an artwork.
